Archipielago de Madeira:

Aun y cuando se encuentra más cerca de Africa que de Europa, Madeira es un grupo de islas atlánticas pertenecientes a Portugal. Consta de dos islas habitadas, Madeira y Porto Santo, tres islas menores no habitadas, llamadas colectivamente las Desertas, y junto con el archipiélago de las Islas Salvajes (Selvagens) forma la Região Autónoma da Madeira, región autónoma portuguesa. Conocidas ya por los romanos, el archipiélago fue redescubierto por los navegantes portugueses, Tristão Vaz Teixeira y João Gonçalves Zarco en 1419, llamándola con el nombre de isla de la madera debido a la abundancia de esta materia prima. Su posición geográfica y su geografía montañosa favorece el predominio de temperaturas tibias y agradables. Se sitúa en un clima oceánico subtropical lo cual hace de Madeira un excelente destino turistico para visitar, es por ello que quienes conozcan Madeira en realidad quedarán sorprendidos por la belleza del escenario para FSX.

El escenario:

Las islas de Madeira y Porto Santo están incluidas asi como los dos aeropuertos. Podrás disfrutar de vuelos VFR, especialmente en aviones ligeros.Sin embargo la mayor atracción de este escenario es el Aeropuerto de Funchal. Este aeropuerto posee parte de la pista de aterrizaje montada sobre pilares de concreto debido a lo reducido del espacio en tierra firme. La aproximación a la pista 05 se realiza en curva siguiendo un sistema de luces de aproximación que te llevarán a la pista evitando las montañas vecinas. Esta tarea puede ser interesante en condiciones climaticas adversas.

"Were it possible to send a handshake via the internet, I would be wringing Aerosoft's hand for the enjoyment which this package has afforded me. Madeira's motto, "Das ilhas, as mais belas e livres" (of all island, the most beautiful and free) is true for not only the island in the real world, but most definitely for its simulated counterpart; indeed, this beautiful locale completely overshadows that of the famous Lord Howe Island X, and is undoubtably the most stunning area I've ever flown over. It has all of the perks and glory bestowed upon the magnificent VFR London X, but puts those qualities to use in a rather less metropolitan environment. The beautiful geography and base texturing make this product the sort which renders a reviewer conscious of a growing sense of awe and, perhaps, a worry that he sounds too complimentary--I don't care! This package merits it a hundred times and again"

"Over the past few months I've reviewed a number of Aerosoft products where the quality has been both impressive and consistent. Madeira continues the trend witha well-rounded package that gives FS pilots the chance to explore another distant shore, and experience one of the world's most challenging approaches. It's not perfect. There are places where your aircraft will fall through the scenery and some of the ground textures around the airports don't look so good close up.But this is being picky and to be fair some of these are issues with FSX and not the fault of the developers. So if you fancy abreak, take a trip to Madeira. Final score: 90% : "
