Lord Howe Island X (FSX only)

Take off from the local airport and enjoy this beautiful Island in the Tasman Sea close to Australia. Recreated with the latest FSX technologies and done right to the smallest detail (you will learn how to read a newspaper in FSX!) it is just a stunning place to fly to.

Lord How Island is a small bit of paradise on earth and its only problem is that it is incredibly far from where most people live. The Australians are lucky to be able to spend time there without having to fly half the globe! For Aerosoft it was easy to decide to do this project when Mat Dalton proposed it to us. His work is excellent quality and fits perfectly in our idea to cover the more special airports with dense scenery.

Although far from our main customer base this was a scenery project we really liked as it is a prime example of what we like in FSX, a high detail environment, difficult short runway and with an additional danger as there is no alternate airport in the region.

Features:

  • 3d Terrain (not mesh but actual modeling with perfect vertical texturing)
  • Very high framerates
  • Full photographic coverage of the island
  • Undersea coral reefs
  • 3d Human figures
  • High detail airfield.
  • Details coastlines plus all the small rock islands
  • Full night textures
  • Supplemental high definition runway textures
  • Includes flight plans to Brisbane and Sidney

Awards/Reviews:

Conclusion by FlightSimX.co.uk:
"Once again, Aerosoft have excelled themselves with this product. I had a wonderful time reviewing it and will be returning very shortly. At 14.95 Euro, this is a bargain. The provided scenery area is small, admittedly, but is so well detailed and produced, it provides a feeling of reality rarely experienced. It also gives you the chance to crank FSX up to the maximum and still enjoy fluid flight. I wholeheartedly rcommend Lord Howe Island to anyone who loves flying below 35,000 feet."

Conclusion by Avsim.com:
"Lord Howe Island is majestic and the virtual re-creation is equally impressive. ..Lord Howe Island is a unique product. Little can describe the approach to the island the first time as it comes into view. On one hand, the product feels right out of a movie set, reminiscent of the helicopter approach to the island in the movie “Jurassic Park”. On the other, it is 400 miles (740km) from the mainland, has a short runway that makes most fast movers unwelcome, and it covers a relatively small area. The airport is a great place to practice touch and go’s or even launch a seaplane tour with hard to beat visuals."
