La mayoría de los fanáticos de los simuladores de vuelo prefieren vuelos que no excedan las dos horas, y por una buena razón. Las partes de los vuelos simulados que se consideran "divertidas" son el despegue y aterrizaje. Es por eso que los viajeros diarios son populares entre los fanáticos de los simuladores de vuelo.

La serie Bombardier CRJ es uno de los aviones regionales más utilizados en la actualidad. Cada 10 segundos, uno de ellos despega. Los encontrarás en la mayoría de los aeropuertos del mundo. Aunque no es muy popular entre los pasajeros, ya que esos asientos son muy pequeños y no puedes pararte de pie si eres alto, las compañías aéreas los prefieren porque son eficientes y fiables. Todavía están en producción, y aunque los modelos más nuevos tienen mejores asientos, compartimentos superiores más grandes y mejor insonorización, nunca serán tan cómodos.

A los pilotos les gusta volarlos porque son poderosos, ágiles y un placer poder volarlos manualmente. Usualmente se les describe como "deportivos". También exigen más habilidad de vuelo que un Airbus o Boeing moderno debido a que los sistemas de gestión de vuelo son limitados, por ejemplo, sin acelerador automático y únicamente navegación vertical de advertencia.
