Wir suchen zur Umsetzung und Optimierung neuer grafischer Assets eine/n talentierte/n Tech Artist für unser Team in Erfurt.

Deine Rolle bei uns
Als Tech Artist unterstützt du die Entwicklung und Optimierung von interaktiven Assets, welche unsere Spieler begeistern werden.

In Zusammenarbeit mit unseren Programmierern setzt du Funktionen von neuen Assets um, verleihst diesen ihren Sound und Animation, und sorgst dich darum, dass diese auch so performant wie möglich sind.

Deine Qualifikationen:

  • Ausgeprägtes technisches und grafisches Verständnis
  • Solide Kenntnisse in 3DS Max, Photoshop und Substance Painter oder ähnlichen Programmen
  • Erfahrungen mit Unreal Engine oder anderen aktuellen Game Engines
  • Starke Begeisterung für Videospiele und Spielerfahrung im Allgemeinen
  • Du bist teamfähigkeit, kommunikativ und flexibel


Deine Aufgaben:

  • Erstellen von Animations Blueprints
  • Visual Scripting von Blueprints
  • Anbinden und Anpassen von Soundeffekten
  • Erstellung von Rigs und Animationen
  • Erstellen und Überarbeitung von 3D-Modellen, UV-Layouts
  • Erstellen und Anpassen von PBR Materialien und Texturen
  • Workflow-Optimierung der Erstellung und Integrierung grafischer Assets
  • Grafische Performance-Optimierung
  • Konfigurieren von Fahrzeugfahrphysiken

LEAD PROGRAMMER (F/M/D)

Z-Software

As a Lead Programmer, you will serve as a mentor, role model, main contributor and leader on your programming team. In this role, you should support the members of your team, listening to their ideas and concerns. You will be assuming responsibility for anything programming related and take action when you know something needs to get done. You should be willing to guide your team members to success, recognizing and acting on opportunities to teach the other programmers along the way. As a main contributor, you should be enthusiastic in participating in the design and development processes, creating core systems, implementing difficult features and delivering important bug fixes.

Responsibilities:

  • Serving as a mentor to the programmers
  • Participate in meetings regarding team management and game production
  • Planning tasks for the programmers
  • Being a main contributor to our games
  • Write clear, maintainable and scalable code as needed
  • Support tools development for specific project requirements as needed
  • Design, Prototyping and implementation of game systems
  • Working together with QA Teams to fix issues and bugs
  • Analysis and optimization of game performance
  • Integration of external SDKs and engine updates
  • Getting a quick understanding of unfamiliar parts of code or concepts durign investigation of a problem
  • Collaborate with designers to encourage tight cooperation between design and code

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of working experience as a software engineer
  • Excellent understanding of imperative programming languages, especially C# and C++
  • Experience with game engines, especially Unity Engine and Unreal Game Engine
  • Experience with version control systems like SVN
  • Great English skills, verbally and written
  • Proficient in linear algebra and general math used in games
  • Able to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers
  • Commitment to code quality and documentation
  • Great communication skills and team-player attitude


Nice to have:

  • Good generalist knowledge in many aspects of gameplay with solid code architecture skills
  • Experience working with consoles
  • Experience working on one or more released titles

TECHNICAL ARTIST (F/M/D)

Responsibilities:

  • Working together with the art department, striving to improve their workflow for the best outcomes
  • Working together with programmers for implementation optimization
  • Creation of custom tools in DCC packages
  • Development of shaders to match visual and technical requirements
  • Designing, prototyping and implementation of new techniques

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of working experience in the games industry as Technical Artist
  • Strong knowledge of 3D engines (Unity, Unreal)
  • Understanding of modern rendering pipelines used in game production
  • Knowledge of lighting and post processing in game engines
  • Understanding of physically based shading
  • Shader writing or shader building skills
  • Creation of visual effects in the game engine
  • Deep knowledge of 3DS Max, MotionBuilder and Substance Designer and their automation APIs
  • Understanding of art optimization techniques
  • Ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges
  • Ability to create user-friendly tools/systems
  • Great English skills, verbally and written
  • Great communication skills and team-player attitude


Nice to have:

  • Experience in rigging and skinning preferred
  • Experience in FX and particle animation

CHARACTER ARTIST – 3D (F/M/D)

Responsibilities:

  • Translate fully realized concepts into 3D models
  • Sculpt, model, UV, texture and create high and low poly meshes for characters and creatures
  • Modeling with clean topology (body, clothing and hair)
  • Serve as an active participant in discussions, critiques and reviews.
  • Stay up to date on state-of-the-art methods, practices, and technologies especially focusing on modelling developments for current and next gen.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of working experience in the games industry as a Character Artist
  • Great understanding of anatomy and movement
  • Well-rounded knowledge of 3DS Max or Maya and zBrush
  • Strong high and low poly modeling skills
  • Strong skills with texture and shader creation
  • Ability to create characters, animals and creatures in a variety of different styles
  • Ability to take feedback
  • Experience with game engines, e.g. Unity Game Engine and Unreal Engine 4
  • Great English skills, verbally and written
  • Able to effectively collaborate with animators, game designers and programmers
  • Great communication skills and team-player attitude


Nice to have:

  • Ability to rig and skin characters
  • Solid grasp of color theory and lighting techniques for quality presentation
  • Experience with Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and Marvelous Designer
  • Traditional art skills

ANIMATOR – 3D (F/M/D)

Responsibilities:

  • Rigging and skinning of different 3D assets, e.g. humans, animals and creatures
  • Develop, create and maintain animations for real time game asset
  • Setting up animation files and controllers in game engines, e.g. Unity and Unreal
  • Keyframe animation
  • Motion capture data cleaning
  • Serve as an active participant in discussions, critiques and reviews.
  • Stay up to date on state-of-the-art methods, practices, and technologies especially focusing on animation developments for current and next gen.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of working experience in the games industry
  • Good knowledge of anatomy and movement
  • Experience in animation software like 3DS Max, Maya or Motionbuilder
  • Experience with recording motion capture and motion capture data cleaning
  • Experience with version control systems like SVN
  • Great English skills, verbally and written
  • Able to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers
  • Great communication skills and team-player attitude


Nice to have:

  • Facial rigging and blendshape creation
  • Cutscene creation
  • Experience in FX and particle animation
  • Knowledge of cinematography and cameras
  • Animal (quadruped) animation
