Rovaniemi Airport (EFRO) is located approximately 10 km (6 NM) from the city centre and serves as one of Finland’s most important regional airports. The Arctic Circle crosses the northern end of the runway, making EFRO a unique operational environment.

The airport experiences long, severe winters and challenging Arctic weather conditions, providing demanding scenarios for flight operations. Rovaniemi is served year-round by Finnair and Norwegian, with a wide range of seasonal traffic operated by international carriers including Aer Lingus, Air France, easyJet, Edelweiss Air, Enter Air, Eurowings, Jet2, LOT, Transavia, TUI, and Turkish Airlines.
