Developed as a stretched and modernised evolution of the F28 turbojet regional airliner, the F100 first flew in 1986 and entered airline service in 1988. With increased capacity and improved performance, it quickly gained popularity with operators worldwide, from chart airlines to major flag carriers.

Offering greater seating capacity, improved efficiency, and enhanced performance over its predecessors, the F100 is optimised for short to medium haul routes. With a maximum range of over 1,500 miles (2,414 km) and a state-of-the-art glass cockpit and avionics suite, it remains highly competitive within its class.
