PILOT'S - FS Global Ultimate 2024

FS Global Ultimate 2024 is the newest development in Digital Elevation Mesh (DEM) for Prepar3D. It is the largest development step since its introduction in 2005.

This new version comes with many technical improvements and new data, focusing on a spectacular rendition of the European Alps, Antarctica, Iceland, Greenland, New Zealand and several popular islands. Changes over the 2020 edition in detail:

• Switzerland completely in 2 m resolution (LOD 14), based on 0.5 m resolution source data
• Austria up to 2 m resolution, based on 0.5 m - 5 m source data
• Southern Bavaria in 2 m resolution, based on 1 m source data
• Italy: Provinces of Valle d'Aosta, Trentino - Alto Adige, Veneto in up to 2 m resolution, based on 1 - 5 m source data
• Balearic Islands in 2 m resolution, based on 1 m source data
• Canary Islands in 2 m resolution, based on 1 m source data
• La Réunion in 2 m resolution, based on 1 m source data
• Iceland completely in 4.75 m resolution (LOD 13), based on 1 m source data
• Antarctica 9.5 m resolution in coastal areas (LOD 12), complete continent covered based on newest 8 - 10 m resolution data
• Greenland in 19 m resolution, based on up to 2 m resoltion data
• New Zealand: 9.5 m resolution (LOD 12), based on newest 8 m data
• Madeira Island: improved DEM, increased to 19 m resolution (LOD 11), based on 10 m data
• Azores: improved DEM, increased to 19 m resolution (LOD 11), based on 10 m source data
• Numerous small improvements and fixes all over the world, e.g. Canada, U.S., South America, South Africa, Indonesia, Japan
• New render algorithm for optimal fit of summits and ridges to orthoimagery
• Compiled with the latest Prepar3D v6 SDK
• Tested for downward compatibility with Prepar3D v4 and v5
