N’Djili International Airport (FZAA) serves Kinshasa, the vibrant capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located on the banks of the mighty Congo River.
The airport features a long 4,700 m runway that can handle heavy international traffic, but heat, humidity, and frequent tropical storms make every approach a challenge. Visibility can change quickly, and the dense haze over the city often calls for precise IFR procedures. Approaching over the vast river valley offers a stunning contrast between jungle green and urban sprawl.
