Discover Line 186 – Berlin's west up close in OMSI 2
From south to north – or vice versa – the traditional Line 186 runs right across south-west Berlin. With more than 40 stops, it is one of the longest city bus lines in the south of the capital.
Depending on traffic, it takes around an hour to complete the entire route – just like in real life.
The replica of the line is based on the status as of mid-2024 and brings the distinctive character of the route to life in OMSI 2 in great detail.
A line full of contrasts
- Starting in Lichterfelde Süd: on the edge of the Thermometer Estate, a symbol of the sober urban planning of the 1970s.
- Lichterfelde Stadium & Teltow Canal: varied buildings and striking crossings.
- Steglitzer Schloßstraße: genuine Berlin metropolitan flair, flanked by shopping temples and pulsating traffic.
- Highlight Steglitzer Kreisel: Unique in OMSI2 – on special routes, you drive the bus right into the middle of a high-rise building!
- Schlangenbader Straße motorway overpass (popularly known as Schlange (Snail))
- Rheingauviertel: magnificent Wilhelminian-style buildings and Berlin neighbourhood atmosphere.
- Grunewald: villas, nature and pure relaxation until the line ends at the Grunewald S-Bahn station.
Connoisseurs will recognise many iconic buildings – such as Steglitz Town Hall, the Bierpinsel and the permanent construction site at the roundabout in the centre of the line.
Attention to detai
To capture the special charm of the line, hundreds of specially created objects were built – from striking buildings and realistic intersections to authentic street life. Despite the limitations of OMSI, the map impresses with its high level of detail and optimised performance.
The icing on the cake: Berlin's double-decker buses
A double-decker bus in various versions from DL05 and DL07 to DL09 is included. This includes the legendary innovation bus Wagen 3492. (MAN DL 09 - Lion's City DD, ND 323, Type 39).
This allows you to experience Berlin's local transport system more authentically than ever before.
