RABe 512 "IR-Dosto"

The first of the 60 new Interregio double-decker trains will be in service from July 17, 2023. This will offer SBB passengers greater comfort. The trains will operate in the Zurich/Mittelland region and western Switzerland. 

With the IR-Dosto, SBB is strengthening its fleet with a proven vehicle type and combining it with the advantages of the newer trains. The 60 new vehicles will provide passengers with greater comfort. With a length of 150 meters, the six-car multiple units offer 466 seats. 

The low-floor IR-Dosto trains allow barrier-free boarding for all passengers. The interior design meets long-distance standards and offers 2+1 seating in first class. High-quality seats, power outlets, and easily accessible bicycle parking spaces are available throughout the train. 

The trains will be used on the Zurich S-Bahn and on various routes in German-speaking and western Switzerland as Regio-Express and InterRegio trains.
